About The Phoenix Theatre

Located on London’s Charing Cross Road, the Phoenix theatre opened in 1930 and seats just under 1000 people over three levels: the stalls, dress circle and upper circle. The theatre was built it an ornate Art Deco style, much like the Apollo Victoria, and the stunning interior is often considered to be one of London’s finest. Designed by director and designer Theodore Komisarjevsky in an Italianate style, golden wall engravings and plush, red carpets make the venue dramatic and striking.

Like most theatres built during the '30s, there are no pillars to obstruct your stage views. Situated in the heart of the West End, there's a host of great bars, clubs, restaurants and hotels to make your visit that little bit more exciting.

Having watched the TV series, this was brilliant and made want to watch all the episodes again to follow on from the show.

Totally worth every penny – highly recommend!
This stage play perfectly captures the Stranger Things vibe and tells a thrilling, heartbreaking origin story for Vecna (young Henry Creel). His loneliness, inner struggle, and fall into darkness made me feel both terrified and a little sympathetic toward the villain. The nearly three-hour show flies by with tight pacing, blending funny high-school moments with intense horror. The special effects are pure magic: people levitating, illusions switching in seconds, and the Upside Down invading the stage – I jumped several times and couldn’t look away. The cast is outstanding, especially Louis McCartney as Henry, who nails the creepy inner torment. For any Stranger Things fan, this is a must-see that fills in so many gaps from the series. Even if you haven’t watched the show, it’s still an incredible visual and emotional ride. Totally worth every penny – highly recommend!
