This prequel opens at the Phoenix Theatre in late 2023, the creative team is raring to go, and the cast will be announced closer to the time. Stranger Things is a sci-fi TV series following a gang of teenagers in the town of Hawkins, Indiana, as they discover a weird upside down world of strange creatures. The year is 1959 and this is a normal town with ordinary worries. Or is it? When a new student, Henry Creel, arrives in town with his family, they discover the shadows of the past have a horribly long reach. Kate Trefry, the original Stranger Things writer, has created this prequel, based on an original story by the Duffer Brothers, Jack Thorne, and Trefry herself. They’re “beyond excited” about Stranger Things: The First Shadow, as are we. Don’t miss it!

Cool effects, story at the beginning to slow The story developed very slowly at the beginning and could have come to the point quicker. Cool effects.
Not suitable for children or people who are frightened quickly.

A must see even if you know nothing about The Stranger Things An excellent theatre experience from start to end. Nothing classic, all the decors and the acting was marvellous. Phoenix theatre on the other hand should renew the seatings as they were really uncomfortable. And a very important tip: please be careful while selecting your seats as the first 4 or 5 rows at the stall area were not a good choice to watch. And bear in mind that the restrooms are really crowded during the break.

Absolutely brilliant production and a huge surprise This was such a surprise. I hadn’t read anything about it before going and was on the edge of my seat every moment of the show.

Superb! This is a must for (nearly) everyone. Maybe not for small children as there are scary parts. Fan or not of the series, you'll be blown away. Bravo!

Amazing! A cliche but it was really an excellent stage show! Eerie, creepy,funny, not seen special effects like that on stage before. Went with my 17 year old daughter, she thought it was great & would like to see it again.

Brilliant play - a definite 'must see' I am an avid theatre goer and loved this play. I am a 62 year old female and took my granddaughter for her 16th birthday. I watched all the episodes of Stranger Things with her so this was an excellent present. My overall experience was excellent and would highly recommend this play. The theatre is lovely and all the staff were very friendly

Creative set use and fab acting Very entertaining and quite a few scares. Prob not suitable for under 12s or sensitive teens - bit of swearing, sex talk and some very gruesome bits. Wonderful for everyone else. The cast were brilliant, us (2 adults and our teenage son) were enthralled throughout. We had forgotten lots of the stranger things tv details but it didn’t matter. Most people on their feet clapping at the end, the set design/engineering/effects were unbelievable- was blown away!

Amazing show I took my 14 year old granddaughter to this show and she was blown away by the acting and stage settings. I had never watched Stranger Things, my granddaughter was a big fan, but the show surpassed my expectations. Highly recommend for teens and theatregoers.

Immersed in the Stranger Things world! Th show was absolutely incredible from the lighting, costumes , music and above all the acting.

Alot of show. As an avid Stranger things fan I absolutely loved this show. Excellent cast. Great acting. You definitely get lost in the story. Excellent value for money. A must for all fans.

Wow, this was such an amazing experience i was blown away by this show. It exceeded my expectations. It made me jump out of my seat on numerous occasions. Definitely recommend for anyone who loves Stranger Things. It takes you back to the beginning and its so entertaining that you dont even realise its 3 hours. I loved it!
